Gèneral Updates
Well I just got back from hawaii, I stayed on Oahu for 6 days, met tons of people. I hung out with Dan and Oli, both from England and they had been traveling for 4 months before I met them. We met in the Polynesian Beach Club hostel and swapped stories of our awesomeness. Soon after this guy from Arkansas showed up and told us about his love of men and his restraining order at which point we decided to leave and go to the north shore.
The north shore is pretty amazing, its the off season for surfing but the waves were still 5 feet tall I would say. Alot of fun to body surf. The crowds were good there. Alot of fucked up people. People with chips on their shoulders who choose the simple life because it's best for them or some crap. Hoorah! to them and hopefully they enjoy their habitual marijuana usage for years to come. But who am I to judge, they give away their lives by the way they live, and if they're so keen to be proud of mediocrity so be it, I am proud of their relentless determination to be mediocre. Ok, back to the trip...
I have to say not only is a trip about what you do and where you do it, but its also about the people you meet along the way. Throughout my six day stay I met people from Wales, Ireland, Spain, England, France, Sweden, and the USA. Most were doing world trips, except for the French they simply work in Hawaii for their summer vacation. I hear amazing things about New Zealand and Fiji so I will try to save up enough money working with the DoD to finance a month stay in the Polynesian area. ANYWAY...We traversed the island, we went to Manoa Falls, Waimea Bay, we ate at the shrimp trucks on Kamehameha Highway, We saw Pearl Harbor, haha, apparently the English don't get venti frappucinos and that happened to be one of the major highlights of the trip. We also went to sharks cove, which is pretty useless if you have no snorkel gear. The island can't be more than 65 miles in circumference, it took us about 2 hours to circle around it. All in all a very productive trip, alot was accomplished internally as well as externally, I hope to go back and spend some time on Kauai and a few other islands at some point.
In case you didn't know I got a job with the department of defense working on top secret shit I am pretty excited about it and look forward to making alot of contacts. Peace out.
