my new temp job

So I started working for this place called labor ready which is a temp company full of idiots and lazy fools. Today I was a trash man. Its actually not a bad job for those with no aspirations. If you are good, the fat guy says it only takes about two hours to complete the route, and you get paid something decent for your time. Now I didn't get paid decently, I'm a temp worker I got paid $6.50/hr which is pretty useless (I bet the company is pulling $12-$15 on top of my pay), I got paid for 6 hours when I only worked 4 and ended up with $35. Not worth it in my opinion but it got me up in the morning and got me out I guess.
The nice thing about this place, you get paid the same day you work. You have the option of getting cash or a check but if you get cash then the company takes the change and $1.00 from your check. I want checks, naturally, a dollar and some change can make or break a guy without any money, and I have a bank account so its not a big deal. So heres the clincher, they ran out of checks last week. They have checks but they can only use them when you get paid weekly, they have different checks that they use for daily employees. So after a 10 minute bitchfest of me trying to get a check from these fat black ladies, stereotypical fbls, I gave in and got paid cash and lost my dollar and change. You would think proper business practices would dictate they give you cash without taking your change when they can't follow through with their promises. Tomorrow, I've decided, its their problem they don't have checks, and I will gladly wait for them to pay me my money. I think its just some crap they pull so they can make more money which is what really pisses me off. NO MORE!
God I can't wait til school starts, this 'try a new job every day' job I have really gets me engaged with people who make me value education and the opportunities it affords. I just wish everyone had my opportunities, no matter how terrible or how awesome they are, because it gives me an awesome perspective that is so profound you'll have to wait until my next book to understand it.
Oh I forgot to tell you about the crazy old guy who worked with us!! He says we're in the wet cycle of the earth! every twenty years we go from drought to wetness. In the year 2012 when the mayan calender ends thats when Jesus will come back! Well if you're Baha'i you're 160 years off more or less. He'll be 80 years old when the dry cycle starts up and the ozone is burned up because the world is recycling itself and he suspects about 10% of the population will survive because we can adapt. It'll be kind of like the flood with Noah, cleansing and rebirth he says. Finally, the left and right lanes are the safest on the highway because you have the shoulders. And this is what the old man graced me with at seven in the morning.
